New River Beach

New River Beach is located on Highway 1 in the Charlotte Coastal Region, just 15 minutes east of St. George. New River Beach is located within the New River Beach Provincial Park. A long sandy beach with shallow waters and occasional warm tidal pools trapped by the sand at low tide make New River Beach a great beach for all, but especially for those with young children. There are changing rooms, toilets, showers, a canteen and a children’s playground. In addition, New River Beach has a campground with 100 sites and a lovely coastal hiking trail around the cliffs of Barnaby Head.

For an especially interesting family day, try to get to New River Beach during the annual sand sculpture contest.
