Air

The Charlotte Coastal Region is primarily served by the Saint John Airport, which is a one-hour drive from the centre of the region. The Saint John Airport is served by Air Canada, West Jet and a number of charter air carriers. Daily direct flights are available to Toronto, Montreal and Halifax with connecting flights to other national and international destinations. The Fredericton Airport offers a similar level of flight choices as Saint John and is about a 1 1/2-hour drive from the centre of the Charlotte Coastal Region.

The Bangor International Airport, located in Bangor, Maine, is about a 2-hour drive from the major mainland communities located in the Charlotte Coastal Region. The Bangor International Airport offers daily non-stop flights to eight major hubs: Atlanta, Boston, Cincinnati, Detroit, Philadelphia, Minneapolis and Metro New York’s La Guardia and Newark airports. These hubs offer easy connections to and from all national and international destinations. Bangor International Airport offers over 60 flights per day providing a variety of flight options.

There are two smaller airports located within the Charlotte Coastal Region. St. Stephen is home to a public airport with a 3,000 foot runway which can accommodate helicopters and smaller planes. Atlantic Charters is a private air service which provides chartered flight service for up to seven passengers in twin engine aircraft, as well as air ambulance services. Atlantic Charters operates a small private airport on Grand Manan suitable for small single and twin engine aircrafts.
